First came word that the stunning Via 57 West building was offering an affordable housing lottery. Today, it was announced that 555Ten is doing the same thing. Located within the Hudson Yards development district, this new 56-story high-rise at 555 Tenth Ave. will offer 90 units via affordable housing lottery. The deadline to apply is Oct. 23, 2017.
Qualified applicants must earn at either 40 percent of the area median income or, at the higher end, 120 percent of the AMI. The income ranges are shown in the chart below, but this is surely a lottery that will attract a big response, given the dramatic changes taking place on NYC’s West Side.
Completed in 2016, this Extell rental building contains 600 total units, of which 90 will be available via lottery. 555Ten offers access to the High Line, Chelsea and Hudson River Park, making it a prime residential spot.
Amenities at 555Ten include a doorman, 24-hour gym, indoor pool, outdoor rooftop pool, dog run, children’s playroom and single-sign-in Wi-Fi.
To apply online, head to the NYC Housing Connect site. To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: 555Ten c/o Breaking Ground, PO Box 3620937, New York, NY 10129. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Oct. 23, 2017.
