The new, 25-story rental building at the corner of Hoyt and Livingston in Brooklyn is almost ready for residents — and 74 units will go to the lucky winners of a newly announced affordable housing lottery. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31, 2017.
Located at 210 Livingston St., the Hoyt & Horn building contains a total of 368 units, but before market-rate apartments go up for lease, affordable units will be up for grabs by qualified applicants.
Income requirements for eligibility for the NYC Housing Connect lottery mean that applicants must earn at 60 percent of the area median income. That extends from $34,355 to $57,240 for household units of up to 4 people. Rents will run from $947 up to $1,230 per month.
Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, on-site resident manager, elevator, laundry room (card-operated), bike storage, storage room, fitness center, resident lounge, game room, business center, outdoor terraces, and on-site parking. The property offers easy access to trains, including the A, C, G, 2, 3, N, R, B,D, Q and F.
Online applications can be made through NYC Housing Connect. To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: Hoyt & Horn Apartments, Housing Partnership Development Corporation, 242 West 36th Street, 3FL, New York, NY 10018. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Oct. 31, 2017.
