When “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo bought this 8.3-acre property for $925,000 in 2011, she wanted something with a “young and fresh look.” So she had the existing cottage torn down, and built a marvelous new home that’s a departure from typical Hamptons shingle-style homes that she says “put her to sleep.” Now, however, she’s decided to depart with her Hamptons creation, listing it for $3.79 million.
The New York Post first reported the news of Pompeo’s decision to sell her gorgeous home, which is in Noyack, just a shade west of Sag Harbor on the East End of Long Island. Brown Harris Stevens has the listing.
With the price of many East Hampton, Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor homes commanding Wall Street-financier money, Pompeo’s creation is both aesthetically primo and a good value, given the quality and beauty of the home as well as the acreage. The property is no stranger to accolades — it was (deservedly) featured in Architectural Digest.
With French doors, a screened porch, fireplaces, a gunite pool, and an open country kitchen with modern accents, this really is a picture-perfect home.
