An affordable housing lottery in Fort Greene offers 20 units to qualified applicants.

A new housing lottery in Fort Greene at 1 Flatbush Avenue is now open for qualified applicants, with 20 brand-new studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom units available. Rents start at just $690 for a studio. But, as with all NYC housing lotteries, there are strict limits on income and household size.

New Yorkers who earn at one of two household-income levels may qualify: Either between $23,657 for a single person and $40,960 for a family of three, or between $81,257 for a single person and $159,640 for a family of five. See commensurate rents and unit sizes in the chart below.

The apartments being offered are in 1 Flatbush Avenue (Phase II), which is in Fort Greene near the borders of Downtown Brooklyn and Boerum Hill. The 19-story building, built in 2018, features amenities like a landscaped rooftop and resident lounge. An additional fee applies for access to the building’s gym. Apartments come with in-unit washers and dryers.
