It could still be yours.

Nicole Kidman allegedly wants to wake up in the city that never sleeps, so she can rock Broadway with her theater skills. Women’s Day has reported (along with the New York Post and others) that Kidman’s husband, the singer Keith Urban, wanted to help make her dreams come true with the gift of a splendid $39 million Beaux Arts mansion at 4 E. 74th St.

But according to Adam Modlin, the listing broker for this magnificent palace — once home to Marc Chagall and Michael Jackson — the rumor that Urban and Kidman purchased the home isn’t true.

“The story is 100 percent false that they bought the house,” Modlin tells StreetEasy Blog. “Several parties are interested, but the house is not currently under contract. There is no deal made at this time.”

Modlin didn’t exclude the possibility that the celebrity couple might be interested, though. Asked if readers would recognize some of the names of the parties who’ve been looking at the place, Modlin said, “I’m sure people would.”

The dining room could fit a lot of famous guests.

Still, as rumors go, this one was a thriller for celebrity real estate aficionados. The home is currently owned by Marc Lasry, a billionaire and co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, who purchased it for $11 million in 2001.

Listed by Adam Modlin and Nina of the Modlin Group, and featured in Curbed, the 25-foot-wide mansion was built in 1898 and owned by President Grover Cleveland’s law partner, Francis Lynde Stetson. It sits just off Central Park between Fifth and Madison avenues.
