A housing lottery at the new and swanky Otto building in Greenpoint is offering 60 units to applicants who qualify. Rents will start at $1,045 and range to $2,795, depending on income level. The lottery is geared towards low- and middle-income renters who earn 80 and 120 percent of area median income, or $42,206 and $135,590 per year. See below for details.
The 60 lottery units comprise about 30 percent of the building’s 197total units. They are qualitatively the same as the building’s market-rate units, which start at $2,279 for studios and range to $4,704 for 2-bedrooms. All lottery units will have access (for an additional fee) to the Otto’s amenities, which include a rooftop common area with pool, garden, and stellar views of the Manhattan skyline. There’s also a gym, lounge, game room and library.
The building is less than a five-minute walk from the G train at Greenpoint Avenue, and 10 minutes from the L at Bedford. The building will also offer a free private shuttle bus to the Court Square subway stop in Long Island City.
To apply to the Otto housing lottery online, visit the NYC Housing Connect site. To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: Otto Greenpoint, 260 Powers St., Brooklyn, NY 11211.
