Prices in Bay Ridge, a southern enclave of Brooklyn bounded by Sunset Park and Dyker Heights, have remained much lower than the borough’s overall averages throughout the years. But our Deal of the Week, 7101 Shore Rd. #3D, is priced well below the neighborhood’s averages, too. This 1-bedroom apartment on the northern end of Bay Ridge has prime access to the waterfront and ample green space nearby, including the Narrows Botanical Gardens.

Why You’ll Love It…

One of the best things about this unit has to be the sheer amount of storage. There’s one closet in the foyer, plus a larger double-wide closet right outside the bathroom. Plus, there are two more closets in the bedroom, so there’s no need to fight over limited storage space. Speaking of the bedroom, it’s large enough for a king-size bed in addition to other furniture, and has two large eastern-facing windows, which will drench the room in light in the morning.

Another highlight is the eat-in kitchen, which also has lots of storage space thanks to ample white cabinetry. There’s a complete set of full-size appliances, including a mounted microwave and a dishwasher. The mosaic-style backsplash offers lots of color, although it might be a bit too funky for some. It perfectly complements the kitchen’s hand-made stained glass light fixtures, though!

The unit as a whole is gorgeous, thanks in part to its arched entryways and parquet hardwood floors. There’s also a modern yet classic look throughout, such as in the bathroom, which is decked out in white tile, a vanity with plenty of storage, and its own window.

The co-op boasts two laundry rooms, a bike room, an expansive fitness center, and additional storage that is available for a monthly fee. Even better than the co-op’s amenities is its location: right across the street from the Narrows Botanical Gardens, Shore Road Park, and the Narrows waterfront promenade. Your mornings can easily include taking a stroll on the promenade, or seeing what’s in bloom at the garden! Owl’s Head Park is also just two blocks away. For when you do want to travel to Manhattan, there’s an express bus stop right by the building, and the Bay Ridge ferry terminal is just a few blocks away.

…And Why You Might Not

Unfortunately, this building doesn’t appear to have an elevator, and the unit appears to be on the third floor. If you’re used to getting around by train, the nearest subway is about a 20-minute walk away, but there are plenty of bus stops that are closer. Lastly, the living and dining room windows are on the smaller side, although you’ll find plenty more in the bedroom.

But for those looking for a 1-bedroom in Bay Ridge, this one will surely tick lots of boxes!
