If you’ve got it, flaunt it — that’s what Taylor Swift has reportedly just done in her adopted hometown of Tribeca.
The New York Post reports that T-Swizzle is the new owner of an $18 million townhouse at 153 Franklin St., after an off-market deal. The Post links the LLC listed on closing documents to a law firm associated with the Grammy-winning, multimillionaire entertainer, who already owns a $19 million penthouse at 155 Franklin that she recently renovated.
The new acquisition was last sold for $10.5 million in 2012, just after the 5,148-square-foot property served as an in-home prison for former International Monetary Fund kingpin Dominique Strauss-Kahn. He served house arrest there following a sexual assault charge in 2011.
Since it was an off-market deal, there are no updated listing photos. However, given the high-end, top-to-bottom renovation of the 27-foot townhouse by designer-architect Leopoldo Rosati just prior to the 2012 sale, it’s hard to imagine it looks much different now.
The 2012 photos show off the super-slick interiors, which feature a home theater, gym, spa steam bath, cocktail bar, Boffi kitchen with Miele and Gaggenau appliances, heated limestone floors and more.
The second level carries two bedrooms, antique French wide-plank oak floors, and an Italian limestone bath with Duravit jet tub and waterfall shower. There is also a planted terrace with Japanese paper glass wall and a Wolf gas grill.
The master suite is on the third floor, with dual walk-in closets, custom millwork and a custom steel staircase.
It’d be weird to think that house-maven Swift would undo all of these interior details, but you never know!
