The StreetEasy Update is a new channel for Susan Daimler, General Manager of StreetEasy, to communicate directly with you — our agent, brokerage and industry partners — about what’s going on at StreetEasy and our related brands.

With the arrival of Memorial Day (already!) we wanted to provide a quick update on Out East, our hyper-local Hamptons site tailored for renters and buyers searching for homes on the East End. In the three months since Out East has launched, we’ve had tremendous audience growth (5x the traffic of the old HREO!), even before our summer advertising campaign begins.

Out East recently sponsored the Bridgehampton Half Marathon, and starting soon, you’ll see our custom-branded Jitney making trips back-and-forth to the Hamptons all summer long. We’ll also have an exciting new partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival.

On the site itself, we’re working on some great product updates to make sure your listings are seen by as many Hamptons home shoppers as possible, including Agent Profile pages exclusively for our RealNet subscribers.

While these haven’t shipped yet, agents can get started entering the information for their pages, right from their RealNet account. After logging into RealNet, visit Admin > Personnel > Update Your Info. There, you’ll see a spot to enter your NY License number and type, your bio, links to your social media accounts, and even a place to upload your photo.

Finally, a tip about Rental Prices on Out East:

The site is designed to simplify short-term rental searches for vacationers by providing a price for the specific dates shoppers enter into the site (the vast majority of visitors specify a time period and see pricing and availability for that period as they navigate the site). If no dates are chosen, the site provides an average price for the summer for the rental. That average price has been confusing for some agents, but consumers rarely see the average price, and they love the ability to see the price for their specific vacation dates. In a market like the Hamptons, where the price varies by date and rental time period, variable prices are crucial to the shopping experience. So make sure to include accurate pricing for all dates throughout the summer so Hamptons searchers know what to expect.
