About

The Apthorp is easily one of the most renowned, white-glove Condominiums on Manhattans Upper West Side. The building designed by architects Clinton & Russell is Renaissance Revival in style and was built for William Waldorf Astor. Work on The Apthorp began in 1906, and in 1908, the now New York City Landmark, with its gilded gates and opulent interiors was complete. Its commanding presence occupies the block between West 78th and 79th Streets on the storied West End Avenue.
