She would start early in the day and it would get worse as the day went into night.

On the day of her alkie melt-down on se last summer, she started early.
She e-mailed me to ask if I "know "____ ____", who is the husband of a comment-poster on se?"

"No, I don't know him". (as I'm working and preparing to have guests over.)

"You work in the music industry and he does too, I thought you might know him".

"No, it doesn't ring a bell".

Then aboutready insists on keeping up the conversation , although I didn't bring up the subject,and told her that I don't know "____ _____".

She goes on to tell me who he worked for and "a funny story" (in her words).
It was about a heroin-junkie musician.

"No, I don't know "____ ____", and I never knew or worked with that musician."

But that wasn't enough to shut her up.

She e-mails again, to describe the story in more detail:
"(The heroin-junkie) was living in a car with his girlfriend.
"____ ____" was sent from the record company in London to try to manage him".

As it was a tragic story (that aboutready thought was "funny") she still didn't shut up.

There was no getting rid of her. She was drunk as a skunk, early in the day.
So I wrote "O.K. that's a funny little story".

She still didn't shut up.

That's when she crossed the line and sent another e-mail:
"My husband's client is Warren Buffet-- WHO GIVES A FUCK?"

That's when my b.f. took a look. Aside from the fact that some of the friends we were having over that evening, are shareholders in Berkshire; she was so out of control in her drunken state that we didn't want to hear any more.
