Alison Rogers

The founding broker of Tribeca-based Upstairs Realty, Ali Rogers (or "ali r." as she signs on Streeteasy talk) is an explainer. She loves to demystify the smoke-and-mirrors of New York City real estate. While helping her clients solve their puzzles of how to buy and sell their co-ops and condos, she has written and edited various articles and even one book about how deals are really done in New York.

Her memoir, "Diary of a Real Estate Rookie," was praised by Newsweek and The New York Observer, and was the basis for an article in Money magazine.

Always eager to share her extensive knowledge of real estate, her New York Times article, "After You Read the Listings, Your Agent Reads You," drew back the curtain on how experienced agents interpret, and even manipulate, buyers.

Focused mainly on the downtown neighborhoods of Chelsea, the Village, and Tribeca, and with a sub-specialty in London-to-New York relocation, she enjoys providing boutique service to clients who had despaired of finding such a thing in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
