Kayla Klinge

Kayla Klinge is the definition of a "people-person."

"I love interacting with people," she says. "I can't just sit at a desk all day. I need to be out working with people, talking, listening, helping them."

Having worked in Real Estate for 12 years, that's a good trait to have.

Kayla got her start in Real Estate right after college. Her father, Jim Klinge, has been involved in real estate since 1984 and founded the successful Klinge Realty in San Diego, California in 2002. When Kayla graduated college, she decided to join the family business. "Real Estate is in my blood," she says. "I grew up as a young kid helping set up open houses and hearing about deals at the dinner table." Much like her father, once she started, she never looked back.

After working in California for five years, she was ready for a new challenge. For her, San Diego was too calm, she needed a place that could match her energy. "Most are intimidated the first time they visit NYC. When I first visited at the age of 16, I felt the opposite. The people, the vibrancy, I knew I'd end up here one day."

Her favorite part of working in real estate is yes, the people, but more than that, she loves solving problems. "Deals are so delicate," she asserts. "I love solving problems every step of the way." Whether the deal is about to be signed or just getting started Kayla relishes the opportunity to find a solution that makes all parties happy.

Sometimes, though, NYC real estate can be tough. So what keeps her going on the days when nothing is working the way she would like? "I love waking up every morning and knowing that today will be different than yesterday. There's a mystery to NYC real estate, and my job is to try and figure it all out."

Kayla attended Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego and then traveled north to attend the University of Oregon. She now lives in Manhattan in the Turtle Bay neighborhood. In her spare time, she loves having picnics in the park, hiking or being outside in general, cheering on the Oregon Ducks during football season, and seeing live music. She is also a big foodie and loves tasting all the different cuisines that NYC has to offer. An avid yogini, Kayla has been practicing yoga for over a decade and loves going to classes with her mom when she's in town. Even though she is far from the West Coast, Kayla is still involved in her Cathedral Catholic High School and University of Oregon alumni board.
