This traditional loft, in the center of Soho, was transformed by renowned New York designer Martin Raffone into a warm, modern living environment- a quiet sanctuary away from the vibrant street scene below.

The elevator at the front of the loft is concealed by a pivotal wall of dark stained ash. This opens to a conversational group of Italian seating, surrounded on three sides by driftwood grey poplar plank structure that backs up to the wall of the loft. On the opposite side, a 60 plasma TV framed by poplar shelving.

As you step further into the loft, you are lead into a dining area with pendant light fixtures above a large rectangular dining table, with a sitting area opposite enhanced by low poplar partitions. The open kitchen features Baulthaup cabinetry and Corian counter tops, the light color of the Corian contrasting with the ebonized maple floors.

Continuing back into the loft you will discover the study and owner’s private quarters. Stylish bathrooms are equipped with Dornbracht sinks and shower fittings, glass shower stalls and Corian walls. The theme of natural elements throughout the loft is revisited by the oiled recycled cypress flooring with 1 gaps between the slats to allow for water drainage. A walk in closet space with washer and dryer completes the private living quarters.

Audio visual elements were designed by Spectra and the recessed lighting by Bega. This loft has been featured on HGTV’s Top Ten Lofts and praised in many publications for Mr. Raffone’s sublime design which manages to combine the rough architecture of the original loft with elements of nature and modern day living.
