Good Condo Properties candidates to establish a REIT

For those of you who don't know, a REIT is a Real Estate Investment Trust. I was reading about them a few days ago and thought that it would be a good idea to establish a small one for non-us citizens as an alternative investment. I'm not really very familiar with them and was wondering is somebody was and could help with some info as well as pro's and cons. It would mainly invest in Condo's in the UES, to begin with. Any suggestions?
