Rental Company Blinked!

Yup - my rental management company sent me a lease renewal for the same amount as I'm currently paying (no increase or decrease) and I just said thanks but no thanks, sending them some comps that show how overpriced they are. A week later, they call and ask me to call them. They've blinked. Of course I'm not going to call them - my lease expires on November 30, I have plenty of time, the longer I wait, the better my chances of getting a good deal here or elsewhere. There are a lot of apartments available - many more than advertised - and landlords are desperate to keep current tenants or to get good new tenants to fill vacancies. Moral of the story: if you don't get what you want and don't mind the move, JUST SAY NO!
