converting garage to gym - cost/recs?

hi, I'm looking to convert one of the garages to a gym, does anyone have a sense of what it could cost? It's pretty raw right now, I'm thinking about putting up some dividing walls, installing flooring, maybe mirrors along one wall. Probably some simple storage, and maybe a door or two. Should I calc this on a $/SF basis or some other way? Anyone have a recommended contractor on LI that you'd care to share?
