We have the private area in the back at Shaffer City, November 11th, 6:30pm. 21st Street between 5th and 6th, north side of the street. Food will be available, extra $10. Okay, everyone show up. I will be there, unless I have delivered or am in throes of labor.

If you were Dolly Lenz, you'd be there even if in labor, with 12 blackberries.

30yrs, the only way it could be a madhouse is if we ourselves made it so. plenty of space, to the back, people will have to ask for SE group, think it will be pretty obvious if someone belongs. it was at the W&R get together.

modern, dolly's in a class of her own.

In addition to being Julia's birthday, Nov 11 is Veterans Day. Maybe we can all have a drink to all of our fellow Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice to allow this get-together to occur in the first place. A simple "thank you", instead of danke or ありがとうございました.

I am not able to attend this event. I don't think i can be in the same room with so many people who use the term "luck" so casually. it's very possible that my head will explode and i'm not willing to take that risk.

seriously, hubby has depositions for the next two weeks which means no reprieve for me.

Amen Patient09. Alas, most of those who fought in that war are no longer here to receive our thanks but we can still honor them along with veterans of the Korean and Vietnam wars (sorry "conflicts") and those who serve today with honor regardless of what you think of decisions made at much higher pay grades. And who certainly do not should not be getting killed on their own base by someone in their own uniform who has sworn to "do no harm."

Off soapbox.

we chat. we drink. we laugh. i stay too late. nobody wears any lampshades on their heads or dances on the bar (although hope springs eternal). i'm not aware of a single incidence of physical violence. i only hurl invective at 10023, because i like to torture pregnant women. sadly UWSmom is depriving me of an additional outlet.

what would you think happens? have a good trip, and come to the next one.

Fistfights in the alley behind the bar? Hair-pulling? I just find it hard to believe that folks can be so uncensored and hostile online and then chat and laugh with each other in person.

I will try to come next time, though. As a therapist, maybe I can pass out my card. If I can't find an apartment I like, maybe I'll find some new clients.

"I just find it hard to believe that folks can be so uncensored and hostile online and then chat and laugh with each other in person."

oh columbiacounty my old flatulent friend, I'm amazed how dimwitted you are.

You actually think you are clever because you "figured out" who a new poster is based on the number that appears when you mouse over.

And yet with all that brilliance (whisky will do that for you, right?) you think I'm some bumbling moron who obsessively posts articles from the same blogs that your sister aboutready reads during her "spare time".

Oh old man, I bet you were ranting this morning that they changed November 11 (today) from Armistace Day to Veterans Day... that darn Eisenhower. Nothing like a good fight to get your heart pumping up to 45bpm, old cranky man.
