Attorney to review alteration agreement?

Hello. Longtime lurker here. We are finally ready to renovate our condo. Do people usually hire an attorney to review their alteration agreement with their building and the contract with their contractor? For someone background, my building's board has already been difficult about some things we would like to do so I'm concerned about how this process will go with them. If people do use a lawyer, any recommendations? Thanks.
