With comments like this, former Republican Senate candidate Peter Schiff doesn't appear to be positioning himself for a repeat run in Connecticut in in 2012.
Schiff says he's probably going to move to Florida sometime soon to escape the Nutmeg State's rising income tax burden -- and he floats the idea of running there.
Greenwich Time lands the goods:
"It's kind of like getting out of Dodge," Schiff said. "Basically, what they're saying is, `If you stay in Connecticut, you're going to get mugged. You're going to get raped.' "
"The question is, do I really have a political future in Connecticut?" Schiff said. "Maybe I can get a House seat here. I might have a better chance of winning in Florida."

Right, because I am sure that getting a 0.2% tax increase is just bas bad as being raped. I am also sure that the voters of Florida will have no problem voting for a carpetbagger from Connecticut.
