divide and sell fraction of apt

Hi, I'm thinking about buying an adjacent room from my neighbor. I know every situation is different, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with the construction involved. This job would involve tearing down two walls and erecting a third. None of which are load bearing. No plumbing would need to move, but I i believe some electrical would need to be wired so what was previously wired to the meter of apartment A would then be moved to apartment B. Also, i'd welcome recommendations on contractors who could do this.
