AC for tenants

I'm in the middle of a gut renovation of a 3-family brick building in Brooklyn. Debating whether to put AC units in for the 2 rental apartment upstairs. Does anyone know whether this expense is ever paid off? The neighborhood is mixed economically, but getting better. The apartment without AC would be $1,200 at best.
