As a current resident of the Icon, I can assure you that the gloss and glamour you see when you are being sold on the building's quality does not match the experience when you actually move in. The building is riddled with problems:
- Major plumbing issues such as low water pressure, days and weeks with no hot water and dirty water
- No roof -> the roof was promised to be ready in late Sept but is still not open
- Elevators have broken down several times and been shut off for days for repairs
- Units are rife with products that break from dishwashers to laundry and washing machines to windows that let in drafty cold air to funny layouts that make storage difficult
- Management refuses to take accountability for their shortcomings and calls everything an "enhancement". If your water is cold for a week, and they fix it, they say, "we've enhanced your water situation". Um, NO!
- Rents are obscenely high and out of whack with the service provided as well as the functional level of the building
- The basement fitness center, recycling area, etc have been a work in progress for a long time, with construction constantly happening
