Can coop board force me to sell pied-a-terre

I bought my coop in 2005 and paid a lot, I lived in it through last year when I was transferred for work. My coop is underwater so I will sell at a loss - i got a note from the board saying that pied-a-tierres are not allowed. can they force me to sell at a loss?
