Saw this last night on CUNY TV: The Stoler Report: Outlook for RE in 2009 http://real.cuny.tv/ramgen/stolerreport/stoler120208outlook2009_v.rm?usehostname http://www.stolerreport.com/ While Stoler can be a bit of a shill for the RE industry, I think there's a lot of good information about NYC RE in his shows. There's a discussion in this show about how lenders are not lending & therefore, buyers are not buying. Cash is king. What struck me about the show was how gloomy the guests are. Usually, the guest are RE cheerleaders, but not here. IMO, worth viewing.
