better use of stimulus: 1 Trillion for cancer cure

To put in perspective, all Americans could have sacrificed and hunkered down for 2 years to swap the current stimulus for 1 Trillion reward for cancer cure, or aids etc Can you imagine the billions of private money that would "instantly" be put forward to open research centers, bio-techs etc. This stimulus is mostly pork and paybacks and a 500-800 dollar a year tax return.. Have American just become a bunch of bailout whiners?
