Need to find a 3BR anywhere between FiDi & UWS (96th)

Ideally would like to find at least at 2BR not more than $4000 with some amenities. any help would be great. would I do better with Condo owners? also would consider Duplex in Cobble Hill area.

Why don't you look at Craigslist -- i ran a search for 3 beds between 2500 and 4k in manhattan -- no broker/no fee

...or just ask at the front desk of the glutted Trump place buildings - especially 200 and 220.

or you can try nybits.com, but I think 4k is a bit low for most of the no-fee rentals from rockrose, archstone, etc. maybe brodsky would have a 3bed under 4k
