Are there deals this summer? It seems like owners are not discounting by more than 10 to 20%. I am looking at 4br with a pool in SH but prices seem similar to last year, but with more inventory. Thoughts?

I say wait as well. Many deals will be made at the last minute and they will favor the renters.

here are your choices as i see them:

1. be a chump and grab a slightly discounted rental
2. wait until the last second and worst case be a chump and grab a slightly discounted rental.
3. oh my god, don't rent this summer.

FWIW, the owner of my rental last summer contacted me this week (unsolicited) and offered me 33% off. Maybe he realized that as of last nite, HREO had 842 listings over $250,000 (!!!) for the season.
