Discussion about
http://www.cnbc.com/id/30306520 I don't know about you, but I am sick of these corporate CEOs trying to put such a great spin on everything. "The economy should be much better by the 3rd quarter"; "We're seeing signs of light here". My favorite is America's CEO Obama talking about "glimmers of hope". Why are they allowed to be so optimistic and misleading when most of our top banks are completely insolvent?!?! The GE CEO is the worst offender of all considering that his balance sheet is so red, it makes my burgandy look like Sauvignon blanc. Do they think we're all so gullible and stupid that we believe their overly rosy picture? Or is this just the typical spin that everyone puts on everything while it's going bad?

"his balance sheet is so red, it makes my burgandy look like Sauvignon blanc"

...but is it crisp with fruity overtones and a dry, flinty finish like your Sauvignon Blanc?

GE reported earnings on Friday. Read the earnings report before you share your high-powered insight into the modulations in the global economy.

Jerkstore: why don't you read between the lines, or why not just actually read the lines:

"GE posted better-than-expected quarterly profit last Friday, as a strong performance at its large energy operation offset declines at the GE Capital finance and NBC Universal units."

Who cares if they beat expectations in their energy operation? It's their financial arm that will bankrupt them. Why don't you go buy some GE stock if you think they're on secure footing?

It's about the background sounds of our life.
Ok, lets say your on the Titanic and its sinking. Your holding on tight but find yourself right next to a small ensemble of musicans brave enough to play in the face of absolute mortal danger. They are taking requests. Do you call out the name of some up beat ditty or do you opt for depressing tunes? Personally, I'll be calling for dixieland jazz!
