Discussion about
The old lady and I are contemplating a move from Brooklyn to the UWS. We're seeing plenty of really nice looking 1-bedroom apartments with prewar details and private outdoor space in the west 70s, 80s and 90s for less than $2,000. Are these real? Can you really rent a large pre-war 1-bed on the UWS for less than 2 grand? Thanks.
Sounds fishy INO. Check that these are not walk ups.Outdoor space in prewar usually means ground floor so there are light, noise and security downsides. With the market being where it is right now there should be plenty to choose from.
Sorry - meant IMO
Sounds fishy - a 1-bed in my building (nice 20's pre-war, elevator, no dm) just rented for $3500. No outdoor space, great block, 1.5 blocks to CP, 2 blocks to Zabar's, etc. Maybe high 90's near Amsterdam, 5th floor walkups, otherwise sounds like bait/switch to me.
