Discussion about 14 Horatio Street
Does anyone know if the $699,000 apartment here is the same apartment that the owner was selling himself? Or is this a new listing altogether? I love the location but have not liked any of the apartments I have seen so far. Are all of the one bedrooms there tiny with no closet space?
Firstly, if you are looking at 1960's building in Greenwich Village, in the majority of buildings each type of apartment (studio, 1 br, 2 br) tend to be fairly uniform in size. If it's a building with big apartments, they are all big, if it's a building with small apartments they are all small (of course, while I say that, in the instant case there's a pretty odd apartment in 14 Horatio - the F line - with a pie shaped bedroom which is somewhat bizarre). But to be more direct, if you saw the 11G and thought it was "tiny" i don't think you're going to find a 60's 1 br in The Village which you think isn't tiny in your price range. that apartment is rather typical (except, perhaps as you say it is under closeted) of most of that vintage apartment in the neighborhood (note the names of the group of buildings named after impressionist artists all build at approximately the same time).
I did see 11G. I hated it. It's small, dark and non-descript. The maintenance also seems really high for such a tiny space. I posed my original question because there is a new listing on streeteasy, but without an apartment number. From the photo it looks like the fsbo apartment. That one was the same size as 11G (says 700sf on the listing, but it sure doesn't seem like it). I guess I will just call the broker
A new 1 bedroom listing on the 4th floor just hit the market. It faces West and should be much brighter than those G-line units.
where did you see that?
