Whoever "planned" this needs to find a new job. You can't imagine the trauma it caused. Nice way to bring PTSD back out.

Whoever planned this should be fired for being a f*ck'n idiot.

1st, do you need to use THAT sort of plane to take pictures or do whatever the hell it was doing? I highly doubt it.

2nd, there should be an investigation and explanation given for such a move. What sort of "military operation" involves a 747 maneuvering around the Statue of Liberty?

I want to know who was in charge of this stunt and I want them gone because they are a greater liability than asset.

A photo op. Flying around the Statue of LIberty is their only option since Air Force 1 is too large to land on an aircraft carrier.

if the system of notifying the public broke down we are all in trouble...what happens if it's a real attack...i think this confirms that i should rent, not buy.

why does such a broken system mean you should rent instead of buy? If there is a major catastrophe, like Indian Point going into meltdown, you will be dead, regardless of whether you own or rent.

We are all fucked, I think it was a deliberate act by Washington to reinforce to New Yorkers that they don't give a crap what we think.

which means the entire country could give a crap if our real estate market crumbles!
Holy Christ! You mean we aren't the center of everything?

That's going to mean a lot of pissed off SE posters (all RE brokers and angry iBankers, but hey)

In Chernobyl, the government did not have any warning system. In fact, if you lived near the plant, your only warning system was when you started to glow in the dark.

Alpine...why should I spend the money to buy if we're all going under...i can afford to spend more on a luxury, apartment rental, rather than buy a small dumpy studio...
