Good Storage Places

I've never used Manhattan mini storage so can't vouch for them but their website helps you calculate roughly how much space you'd need. That, at least, might be a good way to start...

I use (and recommend) Storage Plus in Long Island City. It is a well-run place with decent operating hours, clean, reasonably-priced, ample parking, easy to get in and out of. Of course, it's not as conveniently located as a space in Manhattan, but overall it compares favorably to any other storage facility I have used.

That is a lot of stuff, so that might run $250-$300 per month, before savings

I used Manhattan Mini Storage for over a year and was very pleased with them. They also donate to the ASPCA (or Humane Society, I forget which) to spay or neuter NY stray dogs ... which made me happier about doing business with them in general. We have enough space for now but definitely plan on using them again.
