Discussion about
Can anyone comment on what the Inwood area is like? Just curious to know if it is a safe neighborhood. Any information is appreciated.

Inwood is very safe and quite nice, as is Washington Heights, as long as you stay west of Broadway.

Checkout washington heights and inwood online for neighborhood reports. Tons of noise complaints, but it is lovely up here.

The neighborhood doesn't do anything for me, but the park is absolutely beautiful.

I'm with tenemental. I moved up here with the wife to save up some money on rent. In 2007, we thought we would be resigned to buy up here, but with prices coming down have refocused on the Upper East Side. If you live on Park Terrace East or West, you have a nasty uphill walk to your apartment from the A or 1 train. Or you can walk up the steps at 215th St. It's worse then a 5th floor walk up. A lot of people love this neighborhood with the parks and the A/1 train service, but it's just not for us.

Quite nice. Affordable if that is the priority. I have relatives up there who never thought they would stay, but they've been there for nearly a decade. The park is just beautiful. Try to stay away from the major traffic arteries.

I live in the Park Terrace section. It is very quiet, very pretty (multiple parks and gardens). It is hilly but there is no need to walk up the steps if you dont want to (I dont). If you work uptown then it is a great option. I would not live up here if I had to commute to downtown.
