What's the deal with consumer finance account mortgages

So I got a credit alert that my score went down like 15 points because I have a consumer finance account showing on my credit report. I'm pretty sure it's the mortgage I got through my building's (new condo) preferred lender and I'm kinda confused. Are these sorts of loans different? So I got a credit alert that my score went down like 15 points because I have a consumer finance account showing on my credit report. I'm pretty sure it's the mortgage I got through my building's (new condo) preferred lender and I'm kinda confused. Are these sorts of loans different? I did some quick research online and it says they are often higher risk loans with higher interest rates (my rate was 4.75 so that was not the case) so credit reporting companies do not like them. I didn't realize having a negative account on your credit report would be the consequence of not going directly to a bank. Anyone else had any experience with this? Funny thing is my loan was immediately sold to one of the bigger banks who would not initially lend in the building when I tried to go to them directly. Really hating banks right now. [less]
