Discussion about
I'm looking for a true 2 bedroom rental on the UES in a doorman building below 86th street. Can anyone offer some good building suggestions?

I think you'll get a better answer (or an answer) if you elaborate on what you want. Pre-war? York ok? Under 5k? Need a gym? Garage? Etc.

Under 5K. Don't care about avenue. Don't care about gym or garage.

Check out Glenwood Mgmt since they have a few buildings in the UES. Also see 201 East 87th street even though is 2 blocks north of what you want is pretty good building.

You can also try The Fairfax at 201 E. 69th Street. Managed by Rockrose. They have a lot of inventory right now.

If you don't mind condos, try the Gotham.

Forget the Wimbledon, I live there and it is a ripoff mess. Noise, dirt, a lobby full of contractors and building materials because there is no service entrance. Got sold at the top of the market last July and the new management came in increased rents on current tenants 30-40%. They are tearing apart the apartments and they have no service elevator, so one elevator is out of service while they have twenty questionable contractors coming and going in the building. They are now warehousing over 50 apartments as they can't get the rents they need after paying 1000/sq foot. Fortunately for them they are owned by a massive JP Morgan real estate fund representing institutional investors from all over the world. Clearly they were not counting on this many vacancies, but they have set aside alot of money. The apartment next to me has been vacant for 9 months and another on the floor for 8 months. We have a 1 year with the right to break with 30 days notice.

215 East 68th St. Rudin building. My friend had a 2 BR in the Y line and it was very spacious and had great closets. Best of all the apt was quiet, they never heard a peep from neighbors.
