This is my first time posting and I have a couple of questions: Our lease is coming up later this year. Normally LL would give 60 days notice on a lease renewal - is that still typical? When we signed our lease, we were given one month free, but it was at the end of our lease (ie pay for 12, get 13th month free) In that case will we be notified at the 10th month or 11 month what new rent is? We are in a professionally managed building (LL owns/manages several bldgs in the city). The market has come down since we signed our original lease (rents of comparable units are down 10-20%) I know that our building is still offering one month free to new leases, and I am wondering if they will offer us one month free again, in addition to lowering our rent. Also, I am curious about the Anthem building on 34th Street. Does anyone know anything about it? The cons for me are that 34th street is chaotic and the building seems large and impersonal. On the other hand, the amenities look great. Does anyone have any thoughts on the apartments, management, etc? Thanks! [less]
the only one who can answer your questions...the LL...ask for the moon...$300 rent reduction, plus one month free rent and negotiatefrom there.
we looked at the anthem, the finishings are great but the street is noisy and the apartments are very small for what you pay.
I would look at the Montrose which is a little farther away but cheaper.
i also heard the landlord at anthem is difficult.
