Is the timing of my question poor or the timing of the park project?

I love the idea & I think there's great potential but I've heard very little about it lately. Don't they have a website: Friends of the Highline, or something?

Yes, see http://www.thehighline.org/. No, it's not done, but parts of it should be open next month. I think it is an incredible project. More green space, no traffic to contend with, hallelujah. I cannot wait to be in it.

I walked by last weekend. A lot of the grasses and small trees have already been planted, especially along the southern-most portion of the line. To my eyes, it's gonna be great -- a huge asset to the neighborhood. It's certainly the product of a different, pre-crash era. Still, it blows my mind when I hear people complain about it. It's a park! Downtown! With views of the river! What more do you want?!!!
