Discussion about
Is there anything he doesn't know about? I say: NO! He has knowledge dating back to 1945 (before washer's ladies and gentleman!) And if a clause isn't in a contract in his building, it clearly can't exist ANYWHERE! Friends high and low on coop boards, ready to assist on a whim! Matt, how far does this knowledge stretch? I need to replace my brake calipers this weekend, can you help me? Thanks in advance Matty
upperwestrenter, the plural of "washers" doesn't haven an apostrophe.
That is, doesn't HAVE an apostrophe. Typo. Never happened before. Ever.
ok...so now you're a proof reader who can't spell? or type? or do plumbing?
I never said I could do plumbing, Cupcake. But I can do telephone and electrical wiring.
Grammer too?! What can't you do!!
What about the schematics for my car, can you draw em up and send them to me?
Come on Mr VP, what other wisdom can you impart on me?
Perhaps you can tell us again how less affluent types live in squalor?
And how you can't bother yourself with details, but you always know the story.
putz
Washer's ladies and gentleman are just like best boys and gaffers, but for the hygiene-and-nuts-and-bolts industries. Matt is correct: there is no record of the existence of a washer's gentleman before 1946, and no washer's lady until -- you won't believe this (but Matt knows) -- 1951!!!
Matt reminds me of an old acquaintance.
alanhart, was Matt's mother a washer's lady, perchance?
Proofreader is one word. Copy editor is two words. Good to know if you're ever applying for a job in that line of work.
upperwestrenter: "Grammer too?! What can't you do!! "
Not sure about grammer, but GRAMMAR I definitely do.
Reminds me of what Lewis Black's ultimate executive luxury would be.
