2nd Ave Subway, coming to a screen near you very soon

crescent22 - no. Construction 91st - 97th ongoing, around 72nd Street started and around 86th Street to come. No station between 86th and 72nd, so no construction at 79th.

Of course there is plenty of noise on 2nd Avenue anyway (major truck and bus route), especially at the two-way cross streeta like 79th, but the subway is not the issue.

Hmm, they don't have to cut the street up with tunnel boring between the stations?

subway tunnel will actually be done via a machine tunneling underground without tearing up the street between stations. That part will not be noticed

Does any one live there now or recently who can share some info?

I knew someone that lived there. decent building, no real issues. I think you can get a unit closer to mid block or on a high floor to avoid 2nd avenue noise. no ameneties to speak of and laundry in the basement, I believe.
