Discussion about
I understand that I should not go to the free website middlemen reports. Can someone kindly point me to a direct site where I can check with all three credit bureaus? I am sure there is a site that was previosly mentioned on another thread a few months ago. Many thanks.

Do you have a Bank of America account? GO sign up for their Privacy Assist or Privacy Assist Premier program - 30-day free trial - you will get a pamphlet with your scores (I believe the Premier one gives you all 3 agencies).

You can get free credit reports by going direct to the agencies. Or you can use this site:
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

Unfortunately, it just gives the report, not the score. I've not seen a free service give out the scores.

(the free annual reports were mandated by the government - the agencies set up that site to do it)

truecredit is LITERALLY the only free one for all three services. Per the New York Times. I did it myself. There are other "free" ones, that are really not free forever.

Thanks all. I am happy to go to a "pay" site so if there is one that will churn out a score, that would be really helpful.

Thanks Jason. Truecredit was the link I was looking as I remember that site from another thread but just couldn't find the previous thread. Do you know if they will provide you with an actual score?

Truecredit is trying to charge me.

Annualcreditreport.com is permanently free. I've used it for years, and never given a credit card.

Yet another reason to stop reading the Times.

myfico.com is a pay site but it seems like the scores it provides are closer to what banks get then other sites. believe it or not you will get different scores from different sites.
