Discussion about
Can anyone provide a list of rental buildings or condos that may have units for rent on the LES? Aside from "The Ludlow," Avalon at Bowery, and Avalon at Chrystie I am having trouble identifying new or relatively new luxury buildings on the lower east side. Also, any commentary from renters in the Ludlow, Avalon at Bowery, or Avalon at Chrystie on the pros/cons of their experience in their building is appreciated. Thanks.

I looked there -- there only appear to be walk-ups for rent on the site. Any specific recommendations? Thanks.

Do yourself a favor an avoid all Avalon shitboxes.

RIght, you lived in one avalon bldg so they all suck.

jon you did not look hard enough. This is what I found it 10 seconds:

Lower East Side Doorman Rental Buildings
(See also: the map of Lower East Side Doorman Rental Buildings)
Avalon Chrystie Palace (229 Chrystie Street, Lower East Side)
361-unit rental building completed in 2005. Avalon Chrystie Place was designed by Arquitectonica. SLCE are the executive architects;
Gotham Court (152 Ludlow Street, Lower East Side)
A modern mid-rise doorman elevator building.
The Ludlow (188 Ludlow Street, Lower East Side)
A high-rise doorman building.

Not a ton, though. Did you try a streeteasy search? Probably not I bet.

Search the arhives at Curbed and read about some of the huge problems they had at Avalon Chrystie. Apparently the problems are not confied to the Avalon I lived in.

Also, I'm not sure what your budget is, but if you can afford it, there is gorgeous condo for rent in the Blue building for $9k a month.
