Re-Zoning School Districts

Hey qwerty, how is that tub re-caulking holding up? We don't want you to have to spend more time this summer re-caulking a tub, and then cheating the tenant out of her security deposit.

How do the folks at PS 6 verify that a family lives in the district?

Can I buy a small apt. in the district to gain a foot-hold and then sub-let it and live elsewhere?

Are there "PS 6 Police" that verify residence?

Qwerty: think about how rezoning would work logically. If the DOE were to rezone, they would shrink the area by moving one or all of the northern, eastern & southern boundaries. This is what happened to D3 districts. So, don't buy anywhere close to the borders if you want to be as safe as possible.

And qwerty, parents are so angry and anxious about overcrowded schools. If there is a whiff of suspicion that you are not using your PS6 address as your primary residence - trust me, some nosy parker will investigate. It's one thing to do whatever you need to do to get ahead in life. Believe me, I'm queen of the relative morality thing but it's another thing altogether to put your kids in the crossfire.
