Does anyone know about his building? Is it mostly families or older couples/singles in this building? Is there alot of turnover with respect to the apartments or do people tend to live there for many years? There seem to be alot of rentals available- any reasons why? Any info would be appreciated.

lived in oxford for 5 years, it is a really nice place..Great building. The board is a litlle confused, as there are few famillies on the board, and alot of families in the building(but a decent amount of singles as well) and make some kooky rules. However they have great amenities, best staff of any building ive lived in and has a great amanities floor where the staff throws great holiday events etc. There usially arnt alot of rentals avail, but in soft market now a bunch have come up. The only draw back of the Oxford, is the dreadfull location on 72nd and york where trying to drive arround that corner at the wrong time of day is a nightmare due to the hospitals, sothebys etc all being there.

Thank you for your helpful response. It looks like a nice building to us as well. We are thinking of buying an apartment in the Oxford. Do you remember any of the board rules that you found unusual? How long ago did you leave the building? My wife is noise sensitive. Did you hear noise from the neighbor apartments, such as music or the television?

Been here for 3 1/2 years and also find the building is a diverse mix of families, couples and singles. My husband and I like variety in a building: adults going to business or the gym, kids with back packs heading off to school, and moms with babies in strollers. Regarding the rules, the Oxford is strict about the hours that service people can enter/exit, where and when large deliveries can arrive, how dog owners can enter/exit the building, how trash/recycling is handled, etc. As for noise, there is a dog on my floor and young visiting children next door, but I hear them only when I am in the hallway because the walls are well insulated. The units have individual washer/dryer closets, and I have never heard any running appliances but my own. As for the location, East 72 Street by us is a rare wide street that is modestly traveled, so the intermittent traffic at York is not much of a negative. The service in the building is courteous and reliable, and the hallways/lobby/fitness floor decor is up to the minute. Looking to buy bigger here.

It's a very nice building. I ended up viewing about five different units in the Oxford and there's really nothing wrong with this building. It's very well-run and they have a huge reserve fund. The gym is really nice as is the outdoor lounge area. I like the area as well as it is a little away from the crowded streets of Third Avenue/Lexington, but still is busy enough to feel comfortable walking around late at night. The one slight negative is that it's not very dog-friendly. You are allowed only one dog per apartment and need to take the service elevator with your dog until 8pm, I think. The apartments seem to sell fairly quickly as well.

I have recently financed a unit in this building, and have it approved for great rates and cheap closing costs. Call or email me to find out more.

Could anyone give a more up to date view of this building? We are looking at buying a larger unit (4br) and it seems 2 large ones have languished on the market in this building for some time. Any insights?

I am looking for a 1 bedroom at The Oxford. I do not need financing and am not working with a broker. Please reply if you are seeking to sell a 1 bedroom in the building.
