I recall Demosthenes posting on SE a few times. Didn't valentine write as demosthenes on the nets and peter write as locke, even though peter was the real demagogue? Or was it the other way around? Sort of like if rufus was actually w81st and vice versa. God, i loved that book.

I came to Ender's Game late. But I was hooked right from the beginning. I remember reading Xenophobia in my lap while also taking notes in EM field theory :)

Julian May, CS Friedman, Asimov, Card, LeGuin, Clarke, Adams... and CJ Cherryh, MZB, L'Engle (she owned at 924WE), Tolkien, Foster, CS Lewis, Stephenson, Modesitt, Bradbury.

Honorable mention to McCaffrey, Piers Anthony, Terry Prachett, Heinlein..

Pure fantasy - Guy Gavriel Kay. Has a couple of meh books but Tigana & Lions of Al-Rassan I love. Not as into the Fionavar Tapestry.
