Discussion about 420 West 25th Street #8E
Tragic? How. We build housing projects in the least desirable neighborhoods. What do you think should happen when those neighborhoods become desireable? Evict the tenants from public housing and move them to the new least desireable neighborhood? That would be the tragedy.
yes, evict them.
Evict 'them'....Tear down the projects and build new glass condos for $2K per square foot. They will figure out where to rellocate.
Question to #1 - you mean there are 16 buildings just like that on the market right now, in that area?
I agree with original poster. I went to see the building and left before I did the tour. Partially because they were highly disorganized that day, partially because of the high maintenance fees but mostly because of the sea of projects around the building. Projects one block way: Fine. Projects across the street: Uhm, no thanks.
Totally agree
doesn't seem to keep anyone away from carnegie hill. or manhattan valley for that matter. are those projects any different? maybe you should move to new jersey.
there is nothing wrong with projects, but for this price or any price who would want to live next to drug dealers- yes poor people need a place to live but why do gays need to live next to drug dealers- hmm well maybe that is a convenience for the gays
no 16 apartments in loft 25 are for sale only a a handful sold. I have heard that many of the heywood buyers didn't know that a new project is going up at the corner of 25th and 10th- its my understanding it was disclosed in the offering plan, but that is also at the corner of the loft 25 street, another project going up-
there is a differenc, having to walk through projects to get home- WHY when there are many other choices, even when the prices are reduced on this project the reality is the same, projects can't be moved-
to all those who are so critical of this area - move across the river or to Westchester...or better even...go to CNN money and find the "safest town to live in the US" - you will enjoy it, no projects there
good luck developers!!!
your crazy insane neighbors down the hall in that exclusive white glove coop building can one day open fire on each other during a marital dispute too.
or they might blown up the townhome next door or across the street.
I've heard these comments in 1993 when I moved to Chelsea... guess what, my appartment has more than trippled in price since that time. Good luck to you too.
chelsea is great, but it all depends what street you are on- everyones value has trippled since 1993 not just cheleaites-
