Other than an intercom, maybe with video, does anyone know what a cyber doorman is?

I'm confused by the name "Soma" in New York.

A cyber doorman has videocams and an intercom, all hooked up to a central service where real live people monitor for security, screen and buzz delivery people in, handle emergencies, etc. Sometimes there are package rooms or lockers that UPS, etc., can access, sometimes they're granted access to your apartment doorstep.

Presumably no gossiping about you.
