Discussion about
Done a lot of searching on the site and on NYTimes...looking to rent a 4+ brdm on upper west side that has a large common area and big eat in kitchen (not as worried about size of bedrooms)...very much like modern as opposed to old...please post apartments that you have seen or heard that u liked that may fit criteria...price range is 15-20kish per month...
or at least what buildings would be good options (trying to avoid the wind tunnel at the trump apartments on riverside)
i would check out new development and try some cold calling...but you have to be able to show very clearly your financial strength. no games. just bucks.
Look in the Millenium buildings, Glenwood Grand Tier, 145W67 (might have large combo), Montana (87th & Bway). There was a nice townhouse rental on 71st (35?) but no elevator or services obviously . Non-prewar 4+brs is not easy outside the Trumps.
Have Michael (west81st) as your broker. He knows a TON about the UWS.

i just wanted to clarify that we are fine with prewar apartments that are nicely renovated...i think my use of the word "old" could mislead
also, how do i get in touch with West81st (Michael)?
He will probably read this thread and let u know.
Hi, Rock1. Sorry I didn't see this request earlier. Easiest way to reach me is via e-mail - just put my Streeteasy screen name in front of @gmail.com.
In the meantime, I'll check availability. Thanks! (And thanks to Mimi as well.)
$15-20K per month for RENT is insane, regardless of the market.
thanks west, going to be out of town for a few days, will write an email and touch base when we get back
looks lovely, http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/rental/518195-coop-310-west-72nd-street-lincoln-square-new-york

I would also look at these:

Thanks for allowing me the fantasy ;)
Good luck!
uwsmom: Those are all good. BTW, if you want to fantasize, check the Ansonia.

thnx uwsmom, good start
