Timing of rental listings

Can anyone offer insight into when apartments are listed for the following month? Is it safe to assume there will be more availability for a July 1 start over the next week or two?

Start NOW. Even though its slow, those have all been listed, since people need to give 30 days notice, and since in new developments they have known for a while. There is very little chance something NEWLY LISTED for July 1 will pop up now. There is a good chance the price may be lowered in two weeks if its not rented (especially if its in FiDi, LIC, Harlem, etc) but at least go LOOKING today after work.

We have already started looking (started 3 weeks ago), and aren't seeing much that fits our needs. So Jason, if you are right, we will be re-signing a lease at our current apartment. Oh well.
