yes, we've discussed LT extensively before. Basically the #1 complaint everyone here has is that LT looks ugly from the outside. While the maintenace is high, it is a full service building in a good location. As far as being difficult to get past the board, I don't know if that is true, especially since each LT building has its own board. So instead of there being one master board, there are instead 7 or 8 boards in total.

Considering the number of transaction that get done there every year (and it's not like everyone looks at the buildings and instantly falls in love and says "Oh, I HAVE to live THERE") the board can't be THAT difficult, can they?

I know 3 people first hand who bought in Lincoln Towers. Given their financial situations, I would have to assume the board approval process is not onerous. Two of the people were in one building and the third person was in another (so they had to deal with separate boards).

They have all bought (and in one case, sold) their apartments within the last 9 years.

I would really not sweat the board for this building. They don't seem to have problems with family support, or co-signors on mortgages.

oh, one more - just remembered another person who's parents bought him the apartment while he was in grad school nearby so that he could have somewhere "nice" to live and they could have an investment when he had finished school.
